Roy Y. Chan, Ph.D. is Assistant Professor of Education & Director of the Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) program in Leadership and Professional Practice at Lee University. Previously, he served as the Director of TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) between 2019 and 2021. Prior to this, Roy served as Special Projects Coordinator in the IU 21st Century Scholars Program between 2016 and 2019 at Indiana University Bloomington. In this role, he led the strategy, development, and implementation of the program’s communications and advocacy work for low-income and first-generation college students within the IU Office of the Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Multicultural Affairs (OVPDEMA), and assisted with philanthropic and external partnerships through the IU Community and School Partnerships (CSP) and the Indiana Commission for Higher Education (ICHE). Roy holds a Ph.D. in History, Philosophy, and Policy in Education at Indiana University Bloomington, a M.A. degree in Higher Education Administration from Boston College, a M.Ed. degree in International Higher Education from The University of Hong Kong, and a B.A. degree in Criminology, Law and Society from the University of California, Irvine.
