Before joining the Dana Center, Joan taught at Clark College in Vancouver, Washington, serving as an adjunct instructor, tenure-track instructor, and professor. Joan created and taught several workshops and a 10-week professional development course in how to incorporate active learning in community college classes, served on several campus-wide committees, and served as department scheduler.
