Javan Reed

Simmons College of Kentucky
Javan Reed serves as Vice President of Academic Affairs at Simmons College of Kentucky. Previously, he served Wiley College in Marshal, Texas, as the Assistant Vice President for Extended Education. He has also led distance learning at one of the nation’s oldest Historically Black University (HBCU)- Wilberforce University.
He is an adept community collaborator, educator, and skilled visual artist. He holds degrees from Edward Waters College and Nova Southeastern University and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Urban Higher Education at Jackson State University.
Javan is an ardent HBCU supporter and advocate for marginalized students. Javan is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, the Higher Education Leadership Foundation, and a host of other civic organizations.
