Jamia’s journey from a first-generation college graduate to a passionate student success advocate is a testament to the power of equity-based college and career advising programs in her hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee. As a student, Jamia took on a work-study position as a tour guide and orientation leader, initially to meet her financial needs. Little did she know, this role would ignite a deep sense of belonging and purpose within her campus community, setting the stage for her lifelong commitment to student success.

Two decades later, Jamia continues to champion the cause of equitable access to education. At CCA, she collaborates with dedicated colleagues to ensure that students from underserved backgrounds have the resources they need to complete their college journey.

When she’s not advocating for students, Jamia enjoys quality time with her family, discovering new podcasts, and getting outdoors.
