Eric Camarillo

Manager, Academic Support

University of Houston-Victoria

I use research-based practices to guide the department in positive directions. The research I’ve done so far has helped me create theoretical frameworks for tutor training and helped me institute a writing lab for students. My goal is to help as many students as possible by offering a robust and dynamic center for academic support.

I’m a critical thinker with an eye for detail. My creativity allows me to tell stories using the data I collect from the Student Success Center.

I like to help students be successful, and I think I’ve found a home in the Student Success Center. I started off as a writing tutor, was hired as the tutoring coordinator, and then was promoted to manager in less than a year.
