Elizabeth “Buffy” Tanner has been supporting students’ college access and success for 29 years. Starting her career as a student employee in Student Affairs at UC Davis, she worked as an academic advisor on the Davis campus until 2003. At that point, she returned to her hometown of Redding, CA to start working with the UC Davis North State Educational Talent Search program in far northern California, which became a regional collaboration known as College OPTIONS. Over thirteen years, she served as advisor, then Assistant Director and finally as Scholarship Coordinator/Director of Financial Aid Services. In 2016, she started working at Shasta College to support the Associate Completion in the Evenings (ACE) and the Bachelor’s through Online and Local Degrees (BOLD) programs to facilitate Associate degree and Bachelor’s degree completion in rural, far northern California for nontraditional students.
