Travis Powell is Vice President and General Counsel at the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education. Travis manages all legal matters for the Council and assists in the development of policy in all areas of Council operations. He directly oversees the Council’s areas of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Human Resources, and the licensure of private colleges and universities. Prior to joining the Council staff on Nov. 1, 2011, Travis worked in the Office of General Counsel at Kentucky’s Finance and Administration Cabinet for 5 years and served the last 2 ½ years as Deputy General Counsel. He received his undergraduate degree from Kentucky Wesleyan College and earned Master of Business Administration and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Kentucky.
