Dr. John Green brings over 35 years of educational leadership and experience as a teacher, coach, principal, district administrator, adjunct professor, university director and superintendent. He earned recognition as the 2008 Georgia Educator of the Year. He has helped to improve student performance or coached and mentored others to do so in a variety of roles. The College Board, the Georgia Leadership Institute for School Improvement, Growing Leaders Inc., and numerous educational, civic and leadership groups, are just a few of the organizations that have sought Dr. Green’s insights. He applies a highly connective style in sharing proven practices from a diverse array of experiences and research.
Career highlights include: Host of first Professional Learning Communities Summit in Georgia with over 600 attendees from eleven states (2004), selected as a member (only principal from Georgia) of inaugural Professional Learning Communities Leadership Academy (2005), served as Adjunct Professor for University of Georgia Department of Educational Leadership and taught courses on Effective Instructional Leadership (2006), led IE2 task force to develop a “move on when ready” instructional delivery design (2009), featured in The Spark the Flame and the Torch (pp.174-177) by Dr. Lance Secretan for the development of a school wide student leadership culture (2010), and led or coordinated the opening of five new K-12 school communities (2008-2013).
In his current role as Director of the Carrollton-Carroll County Education Collaborative (CCEC), Dr. Green leads design and implementation of P-20 educational partnerships for the University of West Georgia partnering with West Georgia Technical College, K-12 systems and community stakeholders in the West Georgia region.
