I am instructor at Northeastern State University, in Tahlequah, OK. NSU is a regional 4-year university, and I teach and coordinate Reading Enhancement (developmental reading), teach Writing Enhancement, and Composition I and II. My interest in CCA began when I attended a state conference showcasing Complete College America, and since then I have redesigned the curriculum for the developmental reading course to integrate it with the developmental writing course (on a semester basis using the same student cohorts). I also teach Composition 1 + Lab that blends the composition course with a developmental writing course, so we are striving to follow the guidelines from CCA and attain some of the same results as other universities and colleges in other states.
I’ve taught developmental courses since 2006, and hope to become more in tune and participation with CCA.
