Belhaven University
Kim is the Dean of Adult, Graduate, and Online Studies at Belhaven University. In this role, Kim serves approximately 3500 students and 300+ faculty, many of whom are adjuncts. She was previously Dean of Curriculum, lead English faculty in Belhaven’s Adult Studies program at the Houston, TX campus, and co-director of the university’s dual enrollment program. Her main areas of expertise are professional development, nontraditional student success, and curriculum design for increased access.
Also she has served as developmental education faculty at community colleges in OH, FL, and TX, where she has experience with co-requisite courses. Prior to working in higher education, Kim taught in secondary schools for many years and has experience with IB, AP, and dual credit programs.
Kim has a B.S. in English/Secondary Education from Ball State University, an M.A. in English from the University of Houston, and an Ed.D. from Sam Houston State University, where her research focus was developmental education and college course completion rates.
