Bevelyn A. Coleman serves as the Deputy General Counsel for Regions Bank’s Consumer Banking Group. She leads a team of lawyers and paralegals responsible for providing legal support to Regions Consumer Banking Group, which is comprised of the Retail Bank, Mortgage, and Indirect Lending and Partnerships. Regions is a regional bank that operates throughout the South, Midwest and Texas and is headquartered in Birmingham, Ala.

Coleman joined Regions in 2021, following a 27-year career at Wells Fargo and its predecessor banks. At Wells Fargo, Coleman most recently served as Executive Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for Enterprise Functions. In this role, she led a team of more than 166 global professionals managing  Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering; Enterprise Patent Office & Intellectual Property; Enterprise Brand & Marketing and Social Media, M&A and  Strategic Transactions; Third Party Contracts; Off Shoring; Technology; and, Strategy & Operational Risk. Coleman also served as Deputy General Counsel for Consumer & Retail Banking; Operations; Commerce and Operational Risk. Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Coleman was Senior Vice President and Assistant General Counsel with Wachovia/First Union and managed the legal support for Card Services, ATM Solutions, and Merchant Services.

Coleman received a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Science and Prelaw from Michigan State University and holds a Juris Doctor from Elisabeth  Haub School of Law at Pace University (formerly Pace University School of Law).  Coleman earned certifications in Fintech & Innovation and BlockchainTechnology from the University of Oxford, Said Business School and MIT Sloan School of Managemnt, respectively.

 

Coleman is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorproated, and she serves on the Board of Directors for Central Piedmont Community College’s Paralegal Technology Advisory Committee.
