Dr. Marken is a Full-Time Lecturer at the UBC Sauder School of Business, teaching courses in the fields of Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Policy and Communications. She currently holds the Group Lead role for the Law & Business Communications Grop at Sauder. She’s a Certified Design Professional (https://descan.ca/) in the field of Systems Design, and, in 2021, founded a consulting agency to help leaders enhance their approaches to teaching, learning, team-building and training, with a focus on complex, public-serving organizations. Her scholarly research focused on how educators’ mindsets influence their teaching in ways that enhance creativity and community connection in the communities they serve. Prior to working at Sauder, she was the lead Educational Designer for UBC’s campus-wide First-Year Experience and Career Education and prior to working in Higher Ed, she was a K-12 English and Drama teacher.
