I began my career with the Civil Rights Division of the US Department of Education in Region VI where I worked in higher education civil rights compliance programs, both at the institution and state levels. From there I worked in city administration as Chief Administrative in Shreveport, La, Assistant Finance Director, City of Houston. Following a number of years as a Regional Director for a retirement specialist firm, I joined SUSLA as a TRIO program director, Executive Director of the first Southern University Community Development Cooperation and now as Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Success. I have been a professional trainer for over 25 years. I have a MA in Human Relations form Oklahoma University and MPA from North Texas University
