Adrain Smith is a native of Rison, Arkansas. He received his Bachelor’s in Sociology from the University of Central Arkansas and Masters in College Student Personal from the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville. Adrain is a Certified Gallup Strengths Coach. He has been facilitating leadership and talent development for students and staff members at the U of A for over 10 years. Adrain currently serve as Director of Leadership and Diversity Initiatives in the Center for Multicultural and Diversity Education. He focuses on retention, student success and leadership development.

Adrain Smith is a Certified Gallup Strengths Coach and Educator. He was first introduced to the strengths philosophy through StrengthsQuest Educator Session in 2007. He was tabbed in 2012 to transform the Division of Student Affairs at the University of Arkansas into a strengths-based organization. Adrain used strengths-based approach as a Director of Strengths-Based Initiatives to implement a strengths program at University that encompassed opportunities for strengths engagement for students in divisional areas such career development, leadership development, coaching and advisement of students. Adrain has also used strengths providing faculty and staff development, team coaching to college administrative groups, offering individual strengths coaching and the utilization appreciative inquire in strategic planning. You can find Adrain in the classroom or meeting rooms facilitating Strengths session to help individuals become the best version of themselves. Adrain works through his 3 A’s doing any session: Awareness, Affirmation and Application. It is through these 3 components individuals learn who they are and who they are not and become comfortable with both. This is where there success begins.
