Sean Michael Morris is the director of CCA University at Complete College America, where he leads the development of CCA’s professional learning platform and digital resources supporting student success practitioners nationwide. He brings more than 20 years of experience in digital education, faculty development, and building learning communities centered on equity and belonging.
Prior to joining CCA, Sean served as vice president of academics at Learneo, where he led professional learning programs and community engagement initiatives for educators. He previously held positions at the University of Colorado Denver, the University of Mary Washington, and Middlebury College, where he helped faculty integrate technology thoughtfully into their teaching. In 2012, he co-founded the journal Hybrid Pedagogy and helped establish critical digital pedagogy as a field of research and practice. He also founded and directed Digital Pedagogy Lab, an international professional development institute that influenced the practice of educators across North America, Europe, and the Middle East. Sean is the co-author of An Urgency of Teachers: The Work of Critical Digital Pedagogy, and his work has been featured by NPR, The Chronicle of Higher Education, Inside Higher Ed, The Guardian, and Forbes.
He holds an M.A. in English from the University of Colorado Boulder.
