Meacie Fairfax
Strategy Director
Complete College America
Meacie Fairfax serves as a Strategy Director for Complete College America (CCA). She leads the work on student support strategies, which includes Active Academic Support, Proactive Advising, 360° Coaching, and Basic Needs. In addition to her work on the strategies, she supports the work of CCA Alliance members in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Southeast states.
Meacie, a self-professed humanist, is named after her grandmother, a sharecropper in North Carolina. She enjoys telling stories through data and sharing evidence-based strategies to move toward actualizing equity and justice in our education system and our larger society. Prior to joining CCA, Meacie worked for nearly seven years at EAB, most recently as the Associate Director of Student Success charged with embedding equity practices into their student success technology solutions. She led the work on disaggregating early alert (EA) research to understand who, how, and why students are flagged beyond superficial and often unhelpful previous and primary EA success metrics such as faculty participation.
Meacie has worked for decades to advance equity in her previous roles in education and healthcare. She is a TRIO and McNair Scholar Alum and holds a Bachelor of Arts from her third undergraduate college, Michigan State University, and a Master of Arts from Emerson College. She looks forward to adding an additional degree soon.
