Dr. Austin Floyd is committed to expanding opportunity and ensuring that one’s zip code or historical oppressions have less impact on educational attainment and outcomes. He is driven by a desire to co-create higher education systems that challenge traditional norms and better meet the needs of an evolving student population.
Austin brings more than a decade of experience across community colleges, adult education, prison education, and statewide higher education systems. His work spans Admissions, Student Life, Orientation, Student Conduct, Financial Aid, Advising, Registrar, Title IX, Physical Accessibility, Strategic Initiatives, and New Student Orientation. He has also served as an adjunct professor at community colleges, HBCUs, MSIs, and four-year institutions.
He holds a Doctor of Education degree in Higher Education Leadership, with research focused on Black male community college success through an anti-deficit achievement framework. His academic and professional experiences shaped his asset-based leadership approach grounded in transformative curiosity and systems-level impact.
At Complete College America, Austin is excited to help reimagine how data is used and understood- centering students while strengthening institutional practice. He believes in bringing playful freedom and thoughtful exploration to data-informed work, often beginning by identifying points of connection and posing reflective questions.
Outside of work, Austin is the proud parent of a teenage son.
