Northern California
“North State Together” is a regional collective partnership started by a $2.5 million grant awarded by the McConnell Foundation. The project is focused on creating a “Cradle to Career” partnership in far Northern California where leaders from education, business, philanthropic, nonprofit, civic, and faith communities join together to improve education success for every child through a data-driven, collective impact approach. The goal is to increase educational options at all levels with ultimate impacts on overall economic and community health. North State Together builds on the great work of existing county-based collaborative partnerships including Reach Higher Shasta and Expect More Tehama, while assisting Trinity, Siskiyou and Modoc counties in establishing their own local Cradle to Career collective impact initiatives. North State Together is led by Kevin O’Rorke, Sharon Strazzo and Jamie Spielmann. North State Together works in partnership with Lumina Talent Hub efforts, led by Kate Mahar.
