Dr. Smith joined ACCS in 2018 after 35 years of experience in higher education in Alabama and Georgia. Dr. Smith has held several administrative positions focused on supporting and tracking student success. She has experience in both academic and athletic advising, curriculum planning and development, program approval, accreditation, course scheduling, registration and over 20 years working with students teaching both in the classroom and online. Currently, in her capacity as the Executive Director of Academic & Student Affairs for the Alabama Community College System, she is committed to student success by providing innovative programs of support and guidance to all students enrolled in Alabama’s community colleges.
